Arlene Eubanks

ARTIST STATEMENT

Arlene is an award winning fiber artist from Washington State with a studio on Breckenridge Bluff overlooking the Grays Harbor Estuary. A 12-piece collection was chosen for the Washington State Centennial opening at the Ocean Shores Convention Center. Eubanks has had her work shown across the United States. My art is the beauty of the imperfect, each basket is an experience that I see, feel and create. The greatest beauty is in the natural world, artist see the radiance and virtue in the natural places that are promised to future generations.

I have been a designer, and fiber artist for fifty years, my work is biophilic, meaning that my designs connect people with nature in the interior and exterior of their homes and workplaces.

You can see more of Arlene’s work on the Art Gallery of Facebook.

Through the natural beauty of driftwood baskets, abstract & free-form designs, with wall pieces for home decor. Many weavings use leather, African porcupine quills with accents of whale bone(Baleen) I use unusual objects in my art.
